We’ll Miss You Oprah

I had a long day of shooting the other day.  When I got home, I spent some time with my children, and then put them to bed.  I could not wait to turn on the final episode of Oprah.  I have been watching Oprah since I was a teenager.  I have attended her show 3 times.  I was 18 years old the first time (yes I’m over 40.  Yikes!). Watching Orpah’s final episode was like saying goodbye to one of my best girlfriends.

She said some things that really touched my heart.  She talked about having a calling on your life and that we are all called.  She said you know when someone is doing what he or she is called to do when they are passionate about what they are doing.  I felt as though she was speaking to me.  I have had a love affair with photography since my 2-week-old baby girl lay on my sofa in a little ball and looked right into my lens with these beautiful, big, brown eyes and I snapped her photo.  I still look at that photo and smile.  I know that is when my love affair began.  I am a self-taught photographer.  Everyday I ask God to teach me more.  I want to see beauty in everyone, like He does.  I know in my heart that this is exactly what I am supposed to be doing.  I feel so much joy when I am with my clients and I make them laugh.  I love it when people tell me they did not expect to have so much fun on a photo session.  I am so happy to know that a part of me will be with them always.

Oprah has shown us that all things are possible.  She has taught me to look at myself, before I blame anyone else for my situation.  Most of all, she has shown us that love is more powerful than anything.  I cannot wait to see where God is going to lead her.  I cannot wait to see where He is going to lead me.

With every ending, there is a new beginning.  We love you Oprah.  25 years have passed quickly.  Thank you for being such a great friend and allowing God to use you.  Your example has made me want to be a better person. So here is the photo I am posting today, it appears on Oprah.com (by me of course). Here is the link:  http://www.oprah.com/oprahshow/The-Gift-of-Life/1

My wonderful clients and friends, the Tillman’s, recently appeared on Oprah.  Please take a look and read  their story.  Also,  please visit their site and make a donation.  http://www.charlestillman.org/

Again, we love you Oprah.  May God continue to bless you!

Your Friend,

Sonya
